Here’s a look at a few of the summer festivals that you will find around the Maggie Valley area:

The Smoky Mountain Oyster & Seafood Festival

This is the event to be in for those who love great music and the best of seafood. Oysters in particular are served in different varieties, boiled, steamed, fried and even raw. Additionally this is the event to choose for those who wish to try out different varieties of shrimps made in exotic methods. The gate entry cost is $8 and food is charged separately. It actually is a “pre-summer” festival and will be held in Maggie Valley Festival Grounds on April 16th, 2016.

Maggie Valley Spring Swap Meet & Car Show

This festival will be held June 24-26, 2016 on the Maggie Valley Festival Grounds. This is a great opportunity for car enthusiasts to showcase their cars. There will be car shows, car corrals, and also a swap meet included.  Admission fee will be $5 for each day and the show will be open from 7 am to 6 pm on Friday and Saturday and from 7 am to 4 pm on Sunday.

Maggie Valley Summer Arts & Crafts Festival

This festival will be held July 9th and 10th, 2016 at the Maggie Valley Festival Grounds and will include 100 artisans & craftsmen.   This event is well known for its unique and beautiful handmade items and easy, friendly atmosphere.  Both admission and parking are free.

Craft Fair Of The Southern Highlands

The Craft Fair of The Southern Highlands will be held from July 14 to July 17th, 2016. It will be held at the US Cellular Center, 87 Haywood Street, Asheville, NC. It takes around 40 minutes to reach the site from Maggie Valley and is roughly around 34 miles from Maggie Valley. It will feature the wonderful works of art and crafts from over 200 vendors and artisans.   One can witness craft works covering glass, fiber, leather, metal, paper, wood and a host of other materials. The entry fee will be $8 and it will be free for children below 12 years.  The schedule will be 10 am to 6 pm Thursday-Saturday and 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday.

Smokin’ In The Valley – WNC BBQ Festival 2016

This event will be held July 22nd and 23rd, 2016 at the Maggie Valley Festival Grounds.  This barbeque cook-off event is sanctioned by the Kansas City BBQ Society and is highlighted by a local restaurant barbeque competition where you actually get to choose the best-tasting barbeque!  You will find fun for the whole family there with a display of arts & crafts, entertainment, a kid’s activity corner.   If you are a fan of good barbeque, this is an event you won’t want to miss!
